Description

This seems to have been an intermittent problem with Geektool for some time now; I recall looking for a solution in the old tynsoe.org forums with Geektool 2, and seeing others having the same problem.

Essentially, the dimming layer for Exposé appears below all application windows (but over Geektool and the desktop) when activated. For Exposing all windows, this is fine, as all windows should be bright, but when exposing just the current app's windows, all windows remain bright. When subsequently tabbing through applications, the dimming layer jumps to the correct level.

Picture_2.jpg - Expose single app. The Safari window is still bright. (203.7 KB) Anonymous, 07/20/2009 08:36 AM

Picture_4.jpg - After Expose single app. The shadowing on the frontmost Finder window is obscured by the Safari window, but not the second Finder window. (303.2 KB) Anonymous, 07/20/2009 08:36 AM

Could you post a couple screenshot to illustrate that behavior ?

I've attached four files with descriptions. The last shows behaviour I didn't describe in the original report, but may help you track down the culprit.

Thanks for the screenshots.
Unfortunately, this really look like a bug on Apple's side. If a window is present on the desktop with these properties (which are no more than public API documented by Apple), exposé starts to behave strangely.
As this bug is no longer visible in Snow Leopard, I won't further investigate this issue

Thank you

Actually, I may have a quick fix for it
Stay tuned
