Can GeekTool 2 and 3 coexist?
Added by John Olsen 407 days ago
I would like to be able to test GeekTool 3 with 2 still installed (so if I run into probs with 3 I can fall back to 2, test behavior between 2 versions etc.). Is there any runtime reason they cannot coexist peacefully if the bundle and naming is fixed up? I personally think the new version should be called GeekTool 3 to emphasize the differences.
BTW: The updater is cool. Love the icon concept! It is a little on the small side in prefs tho - how about trimming stand and frame some?

Hi, thanks for your comments.
I think the two versions can co-exist, they do not share preferences file, and the method used to connect the preference pane and the helper application are different.
I did many tests, including trying to remove things from the icon, and none was conclusive :-) So I finally decided to keep a small version of the original icon, which is difficult to identify at first, I know !
